Fabulous ferns

1: Black ferns
2: Silver ferns

3: White ferns

I like the White ferns uniform the most because when you get hot you would not be as hot as when you are in a short sleeve because you are in a singlet.

Giants among us

I would love to go see the Tane Mahuta because it is the biggest tree in New Zealand and probably the most famous tree in New Zealand. I could also take my friends along And clean our shoes before we enter the forest.

Ice, ice baby

When I am online I always need to stay safe so that's why I listen to the teacher in case we are on the wrong thing because if you are on the wrong thing anything could happen to you. This is what I do to keep safe online.

North and South

                              Greymouth
Greymouth is a Great place to live there are lots of beautiful birds and lots of beautiful plants. It hasn't rained in a few days so we get lots of sunny wethers here That's why I think Greymouth is the best place to live.

The legend of New Zealand

1: The highest mountain in New Zealand is Mt Cook.
2: New Zealanders are called kiwis, not the fruit kiwi the flightless bird.
3: New Zealand city that has the most people is Auckland even though Wellington is the capital city.

What it will be like if I had nine siblings!

If I was one of nine children it would be really really weird because I am so used to having one sibling. I would love it if I was one of nine children because when I am lonley I would alwys have someone to play with when I am bored. Other reasons why it could be bad. Imagine how much food we will have to have, bedrooms arrangement, how big the table is and fighting over one thing that is not a big deal. And who gets the tv remote obviously I should get it. we would always run out of food. One night our mum might ask us if we want hot chips or salad I say hot chps and the rest say salad.

My practice summer learning journey

Dear _____

I am sending you this letter to tell you about my travels to New Zealand.
When I left everything behind I started my travels lots and lots of miles away from my home. It was the scareist thing that I have ever done but I was very very exited. I had been counting down the months, weeks and days. Finally the day came and I was the most exited that I have ever been. As so as I stepped foot on the waka we were not going back. When I need food I always bring canned food. If you bring canned food then the food that you bring will last longer. When they first discovered Greymouth they found a lot of green stone.

Practice of the summer learning journey

Today we read about Maui's fish. Here are 5 interesting facts I discovered.

Maui

Maui always wanted to go fishing with his brothers.
Maui likes weaving fishing lines.
Maui is very smart.
His brothers are very mean to him.
Maui turned out as the best fisherman.

I know the story about Maui and the sun, The legend of the creation, Uenuku and the mist maiden, The great fish of Maui, Rona and the moon and the legend of Hinemoa and the Tutaekai.

WALT: write clear instructions using verbs. I enjoyed eating the M&Ms at the end. I found it challenging to slowly and carefully pour the water into the bowl.

All about me

On my way to school

On My Way to School

I look up all i see is a teerafing ladder I take a step closer I can hear all the boys screaming like girls I take my first step onto the ladder. I can hear can hear people yelling because of how high it is i can see top i say i am almost there i can feel my tummy turning into butterflies. I can hear birds chirping and the wind whistling the trees sway side to side. I can hear people screaming and yelling. I can see the trees swaying side to side while the wobbly ladder shakes. I can feel splinters pushing into my hands. I can feel the woody crunchy ladder slipping through my hands. I wonder if i am going to fall off? I wonder if i will get a splinter in my hands? I wonder if the wind will come to hard and push me off the ladder?

Tech Famine Reflection

On Monday we did the tech famine which is when we don't have tech for 48 hours. It was pretty hard for some people because they were on the devices all the time. I didn't have any trouble being off devices for a while but the games that we played or the things that we did were knucklebones, bike riding, swimming, motorbike riding, board games and lots more.

My Hoilday

In the Holidays my cousins and Nanna and Grandad came over from Dunedin for a week. It was awesome. We went for some walks like Hokitika Gorge and some other ones. We also went to the town pool and we played on the inflatables. I fell off a couple times and so did my cousins. We had a really fun time.

The 7 stars of Matariki

We have been learning about Matariki. I've loved painting our pictures. We have also been learning maths. In maths, we created Matariki stars.
My favorite learning so far has been listening to the book or painting the pictures of Matariki.
